This animation campaign for Exploding Kittens was developed in collaboration with our friends at Fightclub, an advertising agency from Breda. We collaborate regularly, and their concept perfectly aligned with our diverse expertise. This resulted in a beautiful mix of film, character animation, practical and special effects, and, of course, custom sound design. Based on their briefing, we created the creative translation through storyboards and were responsible for the full production.
In the final scene, you see the cards being blown through the air after the explosion. This is a great example of a practical effect, where no digital techniques were used. Instead, we created the blowing effect in a realistic and tangible way, using a leaf blower.
The lighting effect you see during the explosion was manually created using real lights.
