To celebrate Kijkwijzer’s 20th anniversary and to show that it’s still fresh, contemporary, and relevant, we collaborated with creative agency Scheepens to create an iconic commercial.
We let our imagination run wild, focusing on bringing unforgettable scenes from films and series of past decades back to life. We used unconventional and unexpected materials, resulting in a commercial where new and surprising elements can be discovered each time. This keeps the commercial engaging and, if we may say so, quite epic.
To recreate the Breaking Bad set, we wanted the dolls to wear yellow hazmat suits. Initially, we planned to cut yellow kitchen gloves into strips and sew them into clothing. But when we held a doll and a glove, the idea came to make a hole in the middle finger of the glove and pull it over the doll’s head. The thumb and pinky became the sleeves of the hazmat suit, while the index and ring fingers were folded forward, so it’s still clear that an everyday object was used.
